theres a guy on AusVip selling a set of 18x10 work euroline DH's for $2300. IMO they would suit the HC shape perfectly. plus you'll have a good aggressive stance which is something you wont get with those verde's or any other cheap tempe tyre crap. its up to you tho with what sort of look you are going for with the car, but personally the aggressive jdm look is the best for these cars. and yeh, do what alpha suggested, lower the car first, then check to see how much space there is under the guards to determine what offset you can go for, then you'll be on the right track to awesomeness.

Yikes! They look tough! Mean dish on them too! And there you go.. I learnt something new. Thanks alpha/yakuza :) I'm still doing my stereo first though :P

How did you go with getting your rims on? I've always liked those .. but we can't have too many silver 929s running around with those rims one them :P
Whats the max width that could go on a 9er?

my wheels were pretty easy to fit coz they arent exactly very aggressive or wide. theyre only 9" wide with an offset of +45mm, but i now have a 30mm spacer on the rear wheels makin the offset +15mm and with a stretched 215/40/r18 tyre on them they sit pretty flush witht the guards without even needing a guard roll.
the front wheels can be a bit of trouble tho because of the spring pan that your springs sit in. there is a really small gap between your wheels and that spring pan. when i fitted my 18's i had to use a small spacer to clear that coz the tyres were rubbin hard against it.

i would probably say the perfect wheel set up for the HC would be 18" x 9" in the front and 18 x 10 in the rear with offsets in the mid 20's. with a guard roll they "should" fit on without any dramas.

and that would look tough as, that profile!

Thanks for the heads up :)

I'm curious if 19s with a lower profile would do the trick ;)

no worries mate.
ive seen 19's on a couple of HC's. you could probably make em fit with a low enough profile tyre and a with a lower offset. youve just gotta clear that spring pan. but if you changed to coilover suspension from an FC rx-7 or the custom G4 ones that a couplke of people have done you wont have any problems at all.
BTW those Eurolines have now been dropped to 2 grand. i would get em myself if i didnt have a mortgage and a shitload of things for my new house to buy.
