I'm using 2 x sheets of 1800x600mm 12mm board; as it's very installer-friendly. It can allow me to only modify a smaller piece at a time and fitting is half the hassle. If a piece doesn't fit, the other half doesn't need to come out What I'm doing below is just closing the gaps by screwing the second screw in on an angle :)

It's looking a little tight on some corners and near the spare wheel. So back out it goes for some trimming.

I'll need to cut out a little more to allow easier removal of the spare wheel. This boot WILL be fully functional too :)

Vuola! There's my final base all cut. I'll just have to take it all out and fix some mounting blocks underneath. But first.. I need a bulk pack for the boot before the MDF goes in. I also have calculated that I need about 370mm height clearance for my sub box. So..... next phase..... most likely the sub box.

That's it for now.... I've scored enough sheets via work to do my new sub box in 25mm MDF (out of scraps from the skip!! :O score!!!) So... more to come later.

I've sold my small 4 channel amplifier (the F303), because this is now my new setup:

MRV-1507 (4ohm bridged) 1 per sub = 2
MRV-1507 (2ohm stereo) running all 4 x 6.5" mids = 1
MRV-F407 (8 ohm bridged) running the Daytons = 1
MRV-F407 (4ohm brdged) running the Vifas = 1
MRV-F407 (either 4ohm brdged/passive, or 4ohm stereo/active) running the 4" splits = 1

In conclusion, there is no need for the F303 I was originally going to use for my rear fill. I can use an F407 now. So, it's still 6 amps (still alot of V12 power!), and I can design the boot with even lines now (no mismatched amp sizes).

ALSO, I've discovered (via Canada and Austria) some Phoenix Gold ZEROpoint component speakers. So, that's 2 pairs of 6.5"s, a pair of 4" miranges and tweeters. These things are TOO hard to come by so I couldn't pass them up. They are in transit as we speak. SO I'll post up pics when I get them. I've also updated my RCAs to Stinger Pro3 leads, so eventually, I'll be ripping out my old ones in there now and doing the changeover. I've also just realised for time alignment purposes, I'll be needing an external sound processor (an Alpine PXA-H700 to be exact) But, I'll get to that one later I suppose.

And to get the floor a bit easier to work with when it comes time to fixing it in place (next weekend) I cut out the corner just above the channel for the petrol tank.

I've got to grab some liquid nails to fix my blocks to the floor and then I've got something to fix the false floor to. However.... I'm gonna need some more deadener very soon, I can see how you could use a bulk pack just for your boot EASILY!

OK, I've been dynamatting the boot and with one bulk pack used (actually.. 9.5 sheets have been used so far... the following images reveal the look of the boot thus far:
