The HC dash mystery switch

Post by JAY-929 » Fri Jan 15, 2010 8:25 am

What the hell is this???

I noticed this when I was pulling apart my dash for a second to clean it, and I discover this was sitting behind that small switch provision. I've tried looking in the User Manual to see if it was an optional thing, but nope! Nothing!

Any ideas?

the blank above is for the foglights (yellows) on the JDM
the blank you pulled i have blank there too....

hhmm, i don't remember (need to have a look)

i know that the blanks near the Power/Eco (AAS) switch are for the front heated seats

could be heated mirrors or the windscreen demister (not sure if this one was offered on the Luce/929)

i think US had factory alarm, could be for that??? hhhmm

Yeah, not too sure. I've got another one free on the ignition side aswell (I assume you have that one spare on your Luce also).
I think I need to purchase a wiring manual for these cars. Only problem is that they cost an arm an a leg. The full service manual is about $100. The wiring one is about $45 or $55. And they are NEVER on ebay.. I've been looking for the last 6 months! :(

Folding mirrors? Was that available on the Aussie models? If so, then if my car's got provision for it, I'm going to find a way to hook the thing up :)
I actually didn't notice if there was wiring on that switch. This other one caught my attention more (obviously)....

Mmmmm.... heated seats :) A HD seat upgrade perhaps :)

folding mirrors were not available in OZ, they are not that difficult to wire in, but you will need JDM mirrors.

our mirrors work on principal of while you hold the button the mirror motors will get the power, i had to wire in folding mirrors on my mates mx6 (Oz version) they ran a relay, so once you flick the switch then the mirrors will fold (or unfold) fully automatically.

BTW Sim from MW has Royal Classic and i think he has heated seats
